Office Interior Design

More and more offices are changing their appearances, they were once stuffy and cold and now owners want to give their employees more of a comfortable feel so they can increase productivity. But for whatever reason owners do decide to change the office they really go all out. Most offices are equipped with industrial carpeting and when they decide to redecorate they lose the carpet in favor for bare floors. The other offices that have bare floors tend to put down carpeting. Natural looking wood floors is a great look, they don?t have to be hardwood floor because that can tend to be very expensive especially in an office. But putting down board of wood looking floors can look just as good.

Desks and chairs are always changed which is a good thing because when an office has been around for years they most likely have metal chairs and metal desks. Cushioned chairs and wood desks are great changes, it gives the office more of a personal feel. You may not see a 30 person office making these kind of changes they may make their changes a bit more subtle like adding a book case or maybe getting new chairs and some artwork for the office. Budget plays a big part in office interior design.

If the public tends to see these offices more than not , for example in a law office or a doctor?s office then the owners will most like have a great expense and maybe a write off. Some offices want to look more professional and some offices want to look more modern. The offices of people who work in interior design have the best looking offices, they have such great artwork and the walls are always painted a nice bright colors. Brighter offices will produce better moods and in turn better productivity. Darker colors and dark lighting are gloomy places to work. If your office is being redecorated then make a suggestion regarding the room color. It may make a difference.

Living Room Interior Design

There are so many different ways to redecorate your living room. It is one of the rooms in the house where you have lots of leeway. One of the first things you want to do when redesigning the living room is to choose a paint color because everything else, the lighting, the furniture and the decorations are going to revolve around the walls. If you are looking to make the interior lighting a dimmer light then you should make the room a lighter darker color to enhance the lighting. If you want a nice bright sunny room then you may want a lighter wall shade.

The furniture should also reflect the lighting and the ambiance of the room. For example if you want the room a lighter shade then you may want to have the tables a light color or a lacquer surface, if you are going for wood then the darker the wood if the room is to be darker and vice versa for lighter rooms. If you want floor lamps and table lamps try contemporary styles. The older styles like Victorian tend to be darker colors.

If you are redesigning the room on your own then it will be only you deciding how the room is going to look. You have to be prepared because you are doing it your self you aren?t going to know or have an idea of how the room is going to come out until it is done. When you have an interior designer they can give you an idea of what the room is going to look like. They can sketch it out for you. So choose your colors wisely. Choose the furniture you know you want because it is easier to repaint than it is to return furniture and get different pieces.

Choose your lighting based on the overall picture of the room. If you are choosing blinds or curtains make sure they match the lighting. Blinds are pretty universal they match with anything. Curtains you want to match with the paint as well as the lighting of the room.

Kitchen Interior Design

If you have a big kitchen then chances are you have probably wished for a smaller one from time to time and chances are that with a smaller kitchen you have asked for a bigger one. When you are changing the interior design of the kitchen you may be able to make your kitchen look bigger or smaller all based on the type of paint you use. For example, if you want to expand your space then use a paint with cool, light colors. Even dull colors with very minimal contrast can make the kitchen feel a bit bigger.

If you want to make the space seem smaller then you want to use warm dark colors or even bright colors. To make a ceiling seem lower use warm colors and dark tones and the opposite for heightening a ceiling use cool colors and light tints. Shortening a room, use dark colors, lengthening a room is cool, light colors and to hide a spot that you don?t like use the surrounding color already there.

If you are doing an entire remodeling job then you will want to choose new appliances, make them modern and energy efficient. Choose new cabinets you can choose dark wood or light wood, framed cabinets or frameless. New sinks and hardware, you could have a country kitchen feel with new fixtures. Or a modern kitchen with new appliances and fixtures. You want to choose matching styles so you have a uniform looking kitchen.

Changing the floor can be very important to the look of the room. You may want tile or stone or even wood flooring. Countertops should match the color scheme of the kitchen and lighting is an important part as well. Even using new hardware can add a new scheme to the kitchen. You don?t have to tear your kitchen apart to get a new look, a fresh coat of paint, new hardware and new appliances and whole new look.

Decorating Bathroom

Most people when they decide to decorate their bathrooms, they usually choose all new fixtures like the sink and new lighting fixtures. Or they change the faucets on the sink. Other people like to change the paint as well as the window curtains and the shower curtains to make them match. Half the population is divided on whether or not they should have a light color bathroom or a dark color. It is hard to choose because in the winter you want a warm color for the bathroom so the room seems warmer in the winter and in the summer you want light colors because it makes the room brighter.

You can either choose one way or the other or some people actually change their colors every season. What you can do is paint the bathroom a shade of white or a blue shade is nice and then decorate your bathroom with either dark or light color curtains for the windows and shower curtains. This way for every season instead of changing the paint simply change the decorations. It will save you money as well as time and you get the look for each season.

You may want to change the lighting fixtures or even a vanity change can improve the look of the room. You can choose from Victorian, Modern, Contemporary or 18th Century. Maybe instead of paint you want wallpaper, that can change the whole dynamic. Wall paper can make a room look bigger or smaller. So you have to be careful what style you choose.

If you plan on changing your whole bathroom then make sure you do the following:

Think about the function of the room first
Map out how much space you have in the room
Choose the colors and the theme of the room before hand
Know what type of surfaces you want to have
Add some drama with your fixtures
Be careful when choose your lighting
It is ok to mix soft and hard colors
Try to make the room as environmentally friendly as possible.

Interior Decorating Ideas

Some people when they decide to use an interior decorator or are doing it themselves always look to get the most one of a kind look they can. If you are painting the walls try looking at different colors such as Winter Amethyst which is a version of the color purple. You can paint a bedroom with this color it gives a spring look as well as winter look. It really is an all year round color. You can use a darker shade for the border and a light wall color with white, black and purple bed sheets and curtains.

Blues are always a great shade, one different shade that is becoming more popular is the color, Ocean Sign, this color would be perfect in any room. Ocean Sign with white trim would look gorgeous. What you want to do is when you choose a paint color that you can decorate around the color. If you have a carpet will it match or if you are ordering new carpet will it match. Some people who do it your self interior decoration keep the same furniture but want different room colors as well as different wall design and maybe try to color coordinate their bathroom with same color towels and bath sets. Maybe in the bedroom you paint the wall and use the same or similar bed sheets and comforters to match. These are all great looks.

Matching is what most people are doing today. It gives the room a smart look. Some people decor their rooms by the ambiance of the room. Some people like light colors and some people go for dark colors. It all depends on where the room in the house is located and what kind of furniture is in there already. Choose a color that you like because you don?t really want to have to change it once you put it on the wall. Always double and triple check what you have chosen, it will cost you more in the long run if you have to change anything you don?t like.

Room theme

A theme is a consistent idea used throughout a room to create a feeling of completeness`and a whole mole [thats what they call it]. These themes often follow period styles. Examples of this are Louis XV, Victorian, Minimalist, Georgian, Gothic, Mughal or Art Deco. The evolution of interior decoration themes has now grown to include themes not necessarily consistent with a specific period style allowing the mixing of pieces from different periods. Each element should contribute to form or function or both and maintain a consistent standard of quality and combine to create the desired design. Bold text For the last 10 years, decorators, designers, architects and homeowners have been re-discovering the unique furniture that was developed post-war of the 1950s and the 1960s from new material that were developed for miliatry applications
